“Top Secret” Tour Brings Out “Inner Kid” in All!

Before we donned our costumes and celebrated Halloween, Inventionland was full of bright students from a Penn Trafford elementary school.  In early October, Ms. M brought over 40 gifted students, ranging from third to fifth grades, to tour “America’s largest invention factory” and their impressions were priceless!

This group proved kids really DO say the “darndest” things and we couldn’t think of a better way to share their responses than by, simply, posting a few for you to enjoy:

3rd Grade Students:

Eden wants to invent a baby food masher now.

Lauren learned it is OK to fail before you get it right.

4th Grade Students:

Brendan [felt] privileged to have seen what he did, since it was top secret.

Maddie LOVED the wildlife cave.

Haley was impressed by the conveyor belt.

Lauren learned that an invention usually has two names… a started name and one that goes to the stores.

Ryan is thinking of some problems he can fix with an invention.

Alyssa loved the Velcro wall & seeing all the creativity.

Kristopher had a favorite… the yellow house and [he] wishes [we] would not change anything.

Anna realized that the people [at Inventionland] are her role models, because they do not hold back their inner kid.

Noah enjoyed the video about how an idea turned into an invention the most.

Emma’s favorite part was the pirate ship office.

Jared was surprised and impressed by the sliding shelf door that led to Inventionland.

Julian loved everything he saw, especially trap doors, conveyor belts, the tree house and how to make an invention.

Kylie is now thinking of inventing a GPS that does special things.  Her favorite part was the wall of famous inventors.

Madeline just can’t get Inventionland out of her head!!  She loved the video about the scooter bike [BikeBoard].

5th Grade Students:

Natalie said she had her dream of walking through a bookcase come true.  She liked the video about the BikeBoard the best.

Nate said he now knows what he wants for Christmas since being [at Inventionland].

Dan felt the Hover Creeper was the coolest.

Bobby felt the work spaces were the coolest.

Andrew used terms like awe-inspiring & amazing.  He wants to work [at Inventionland] someday.

Julianne had a dream about Inventionland and wants to fashion her tree house like what she saw.

Grace was impressed how life-like the trees and grass looked.

Trevor liked the snack room and the picture of the ‘crowd.’

We all may have a favorite part of Inventionland, but isn’t it amazing what aspects stand out to young minds?  Thank you, Ms. M, and your very inspiring class of tomorrow’s innovators and inventors!
